Over 5,000 workers sent to work in Republic of Korea
Over 5,000 Vietnamese workers have been sent to work in the Republic of Korea since the beginning of this year under the programme of EPS labour licence, said the Overseas Labour Centre under the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
From now to the end of this year, an additional 3,000 workers are expected to leave for the same destination.
So far, 100 Vietnamese workers have been allowed to return to work in the Republic of Korea, said Vu Minh Xuyen, director of the centre. To be allowed to return to the Republic of Korea to work, Vietnamese workers should sign contracts with employers and complete all procedures to extend the visa before the end of their current contract.
The new policy approved by the Republic of Korean’s Government this year aims to help its businesses to employ enough workers and encourage overseas workers to strictly observe their labour contracts. (Quan doi Nhan dan, Nguoi Lao dong)
